Nature's Cradle is Australias leading Natural and Organic Pregnancy, Baby and Toddler group of retail stores. We are the first in Australia to have a HUGE range of Fitted Cloth Nappies and Baby Wearing Slings & Carriers.  Our aim is to not just make a beautiful array of natural products available to parents around Australia, but to provide support to parents so they can more easily make natural choices to help give their family a more natural start to life.

We are a family business, based in South Australia. Our aim is to allow parents all over Australia to easily find Natural Pregnancy & Parenting products, and be a valuable resource of information.

There is such a wonderful variety of cloth nappies, slings and other Natural Parenting products available these days. However, these items are usually only available online, making it hard to guess which might be the right one to choose. Now, not only can you come and view these wonderful products 'in the flesh', but you can also get our advice on what might suit your particular needs.

We also hold FREE workshops on various subjects such as how to use and care for cloth nappies, which is the right sling for you, what options are there for a chemical free household, and more.

We believe in giving children the best start in life. That includes looking after the environment that they live in. You do not need to be a cloth nappy user, or adapt any of the natural parenting pholisophies to enter our store. We welcome everybody to look without pressure. Whether you can implement one natural item or philosophy into your life, or are a parent who adopts many natural parenting philosophies, we welcome you to come in and see what wonderful options are available.

You will be amazed at how easy it is to use and care for cloth nappies, how much you can bond with your child while being hands free just from using a sling, how much better your body will feel if you remove some of the toxins from your life, and how much better you will feel overall if you know you are doing your piece to bring your family back to nature.

We have created a lovely store at 425 Brighton Road, Brighton, South Australia, and now have other stores opening around Australia.  Our stores are always welcoming, for all members of the family.  You can wander around for hours exploring our shelves, and feel welcome to ask for anything from product knowlege, to referrals to local Natural Practitioners and Midwives.  We have toys for the babies to play with while you shop in a more relaxed atmosphere, and where space allows we have comfortable chairs for you to sit and Breastfeed.

ABOUT THE OWNER, AND HOW IT ALL STARTED -

In 2003 I became pregnant and as many mums naturally do, I searched for the best products to help give my baby a more natural start to life.  I went to all of the baby stores in my state, and much to my disappointment I found nothing more than plastic products, staff with no knowledge of the ethics of their products making, and certainly nothing natural.  I couldn't even find a single modern cloth nappy, or any natural skin care.  I was quite dismayed.

After having a less than natural birth, and beginning to bring my baby up the way that I felt instinctively to do, naturally by using the few Terry Cloth I could borrow and plenty of cuddles, I started to search the internet.  Soon enough I found a whole world of Modern Cloth Nappies, amazing Baby Wearing Slings, and even Natural Skin Care.  I also started to learn that the birth of my daughter could have been very different to the one we had experienced had I just known more at the time, and it is actually okay to cuddle my baby as much as I want to!!!

Of course, finding products on the internet, it is hard to know what is most suitable, and it is very time consuming to research all of them.  I didn't think it was good enough that I should have to spend hours staring at a computer screen instead of enjoying my baby.  I also didn't think it was good enough that such fantastic information about giving baby a natural start such as techniques to use in labour, were so hidden from the mainstream street stores and classes where most people go when they are pregnant.

So I decided to open my first little store, so that mothers like me could walk in while pregnant, touch and feel products, find the natural alternatives, and find free information on all things natural baby and parenting.

Since then we have grown, and grown so very quickly.  Now with my second, naturally born baby, I can't believe how far we have come.  It is my goal to have our stores in each state of Australia, so that mums all over our country can have a chance to walk into a pretty baby store and realise that there are so many wonderful natural options available.  I want mums to be able to come in and find what they need in both products and information, so that they can spend more time gazing at their precious newborn babies.
